John Dies At The End

2.5/5 Stars

A mysterious drug called “Soy Sauce” opens a door for David Wong and his friend John to an otherwise unseen world in which bizarre, dangerous, and usually downright stupid looking creatures lurk around every corner. A series of strange events surrounding the Soy Sauce lead John and David further down a rabbit hole, in which they realize the world needs saving, and they’re the only two up for the job.. If they can get around to it.
I decided to illustrate the Wig Monster based on how it was described in the book as it was one of the more iconic creatures but also one that wasn’t too spoiler-heavy. There’s a lot of really cool, really bizarre imagery in the book, but illustrating it would have unfortunately I think given away too much.

Adventure Time: "Wizard Battle"

This is Abracadaniel from the Adventure Time episode: "Wizard Battle".

"Wizard Battle" is my favorite Adventure Time episode so far, and Abracadaniel is my favorite side character. So naturally, I wanted to do a short review of the episode and paint Abracadaniel in all his phallic-looking-rainbow-wielding glory.

The First Law Trilogy

The First Law Trilogy is the first series from Joe Abercrombie. It is a dark fantasy that follows an ensemble of characters as they try to navigate their way through a politically volatile world.

This piece shows how I envisioned the characters while I read the book. From Top Left To Right: Collem West, Jezal Dan Luthar, Ardee West, Practical Severard, Sand Dan Glokta, Practical Frost, Bayaz, Ferro Maljinn, and Logen Ninefingers.

Under The Dome

Under The Dome is about a town that becomes inexplicably closed off by an invisible dome. The story follows the struggles that the citizens face being trapped by the dome and the mystery surrounding what created the invisible barrier.

I wanted to do something movie-poster style because the book feels very cinematic. (Apparently someone agrees with me on this one, as they're making an Under The Dome TV show) The characters here as I pictured them from top left to right are: Big Jim Rennie, Dale Barbara, Junior Rennie, The Chef, Julia Shumway, and Rusty Everett.

Adventure Time

For those of you who have been hiding under a rock: Adventure Time follows Finn the Human and Jake the Dog on their adventures in the post-apocalyptic Land of Ooo. The painting my take on their robot game system, called BMO or Beemo.
